Christmas 2010

On Christmas Eve we went to the Meier's home. It was so beautiful! Debra has gorgeous Christmas decorations and a beautiful home. We had a very fancy fabulous dinner and desert and then acted out the nativity. I could feel the spirit very strong during it, I think that is a great tradition and want to start it for our family.

Ried has been our home teacher the entire time we have been here and has never missed a month. He is the best home teacher we have ever had!

This was our first year celebrating Christmas alone, with just our little family. Although we really missed being with family!!!! A ton!!!! We really enjoyed our little Christmas, and it was really fun sharing it with cherished friends whom we will miss when we move!

Sky already knew what was in his stalking, he was an early riser and he emptied his stalking while we were all sleaping.

So what Kayala and Sky both wanted most was "How to train your dragon" movie and the dress up for it! That is all they asked Santa for!

Great Grandma Smith gave her a soft fuzzy kitty that comes in a cute little purse! She calls it her wolf kitty

Every year my Dad does treasure hunts for our main gifts. I couldn't go wihtout it this year, so I made one for Cade! I hid them in the dryer, luckily no one started the dryer that morning

And the mess afterward! It stayed like this for a few days!

Cade made a delicious breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage, patato bread toast and home made jelly. Mmmm it was soooo good! We read a few Christmas stories together as a family and they all had sausage and bacon cooking with muffins, mmm, that could be something to do with why we had sauage and bacon too!

We had a white Christmas! It snowed all day Christmas Eve and even a little on Christmas morning! Sky got a winter coat from Santa and after breakfast while me and Kayala and kien were sleaping Cade and Sky went out in the snow! They sledded down some pretty big hills and had a blast. Wish I could have been there and wish he brought the camera!

We found some presents at our front door! Sky said Jesus brought them to us. I will have to tell you all about our secret santas! I will do a post on it later. We are so grateful for them!

As you can see, Kayala loved her cute little purse! She loves pink and she loves purses!

Becca Secor and little Max, who is only 4 weeks older than Kien. Her and her awesome Husbaand Matt invited us over with the Quinney's and the Fish's later on Christmas evening and we all had a good ol time! Angela made the best Peanutbutter cheese cake!!! MMMmmmm I should have taken a picture of them. I need the recipe!

Santa Clause came to our church last Sunday! Sky and Kayala saw him and immediately recognized him as Santa Clause. They asked where his red hat was and his reindeer. They were so excited to see him at our church and wondered why he wasn't at the north pole, lol. After church Cade talked to him and it turns out he is a professional santa clause! He told us to tell Sky and Kayala that he is on vacation and he gave us this card to give to them. It was the coolest thing! Cade is thinking about being Santa when he gets older, lol.

They talked me into letting them take a bath in my big bathtub. It's crazy to think that Kayala was born in this tub and very soon our new little one will probably be born in this tub too. It makes me even more sad to leave our home, 2 of our babies were born here!

Sky and Kayala reading books together before bed time, aren't they little cuties!!! Sometimes Sky will read to Kayala, they love the Clifford books that talk about Clifford when he was a tiny puppy. Sky has some of them memorized and he'll read them to Kayala before bed. So cute and sweet!

Kayala is such a big girl! She is out of her crib and sleeping in a big girl bed! We have been putting her on Sky's bottom bed and she loves it! Her and Sky will fall asleep reading books, they don't get out of their beds, and they don't keep each other up. I can't believe it! Kayala has grown up too fast, she isn't a baby! We were looking at pictures and videos of Sky when he was Kayala's age and he was such a baby at this stage! he hardly talked, still had his binki and blankey, diapers, and had a little baby voice. Kayala is like she is 2 going on 5! I can't believe it!

Here is cute, goofy Sky :) While Kayala naps me and Sky get to hang out and goof around and read books. Then after a while he has a quiet time while I get a little bit of time to myself before Kayala wakes up. Sometimes Sky falls asleep and sometimes he doesn't.

Carmel Popcorn and Movie Night!!!!! The Broderick Family Tradition!

Sky and Kayala earned all their beans up to the line on their bean jar and for their reward they wanted carmel popcorn and a movie. We watched the goofy movie and danced to the music afterward.

This picture was taken at 33 weeks, Now I am 34 weeks, only 6 more weeks to go! I ordered Dr. Christopherson's 6 week formula which is a bunch of awesome herbs in a pill form to prepare pregnant woman for birth. You start taking them 6 weeks before your due, I just got them in the mail today so it will be perfect because I turn 34 weeks tomorrow :) I'm am taking tons of pills and liquids like floradix and chlorophyll and I'm hoping and praying that it will help everything to run smoothly for the birth. I have gotten into a really good pill taking habbit and hope it will continue on after this pregnancy!

I am dying to find out what we are having! Our little mystery baby! I have had dreams that it is both a boy and a girl. Last night I had this crazy dream that I just gave birth to a baby boy but he was not a new born, he was more like 4 months old! He was huge and had black hair, lol. It's fun being pregnent and having all those crazy dreams! I think that not knowing what we are having and being so anxious to find out will give me something to think about other than contractions during the whole birth process. We'll see!

Cade is taking bords tomorrow and Sunday. Pray for him! He has been working and studying soooo hard. This morning he left at 8:00, didn't get home until 6:30 and he spent the whole time studying! I don't know how you can study that long! While he was working his tail end off studying me and the kiddos had a nice relaxing day at the park :)

We went to Zachary park and feed geese, crawdads, and big orange fish. The geese came so close and I was a little nervous because I heard they can be pretty vicious but they didn't attack, so that was good.

I feel bad, I didn't get any pics of Sky, I should have got one when he climbed to the top of the giant spiderweb! He was having so much fun playing he didn't want to stop and pose for a picture.

The weather has been so nice these past few days! It has been overcast with a nice cool breeze. I am really excited for fall! It is so beautiful here during the fall with all the beautiful leaves changing colors. And there are lots of pumpkin patches and festivals to go to. Sky and Kayala are already talking about what they want to be for halloween. Today we saw pumpkins at the grociary store and we passed the holloween candy and when Sky saw all the different kinds of candy he told me his favorite part of halloween is trick or treating!

And just think, this halloween we will probably have a new little pumpkin of our own! :)

Sky built this lincoln log house all by himself! This was in January, he got these lincoln logs from his Gramy Nielsen for Christmas. I was so shocked when I saw this perfect cozy little log cabin he had built with his own hands!!!!
